Comments
"Good luck to all......God Present.
~ NAMASTE ~" - Nicole M.
"This is not a cottage! This is what is ruining Muskoka." - David F.
"The odds are I won't win, but being able to dream of owning this sumptuous lakeside house makes the price of a ticket well worth while. I'm already planning to host our 2011 family reunion there. Thanks again for a dream. Mary C" - Mary C.
"Stunning cottage!! Although the Oakville home is very nice too this time. I love this lottery even though I never win, as it is a great cause!! Thanks!! " - suzanne W.
"It's a nice cottage( I saw it ) and I certainly wouldn't turn it down if I won it but it is a far cry from being a "lakeside" cottage" - Le B.
"What a beautiful cottage. We would sure love to call this ours, but we do wish everyone all the luck in the world. The cause is what's so very important. I pray that they will find a cure in my lifetime. I'm 56 years old and was in an accident some time ago. Now I have a completely different view on 'things' and 'money'. Of course I'd love to win one of the big prizes because I have a daughter, a son, and a 3rd grandchild due any minute. So the home or the cottage would be such a wonderful gift for so many generations, especially the cottage. I would love to win it for them. If not, I hope whoever does win any of the prizes enjoys their life, and passes it on to their children and grandchildren. Thanks to all who work so hard to try and please as many people as they can when preparing each lottery, more importantly thank you to all of the many people who are working so hard to find a cure. You are the real winners." - Ann M.
"I would love to see the cottage the picture looks beautiful. Wish there was more information regarding size. Nice place to retire hope, hope." - Elizabeth C.
"I can only dream but dreams do come true be nice to own something to call my own a great charity to support thank you Princess Margret" - Lynne T.
"You must have really major money to spend on a cottage if you think this is "horrible". While I would make small changes in the decor to suit my style, this cottage wouldn't be out of place in a high end suburban neighbourhood as John D. pointed out." - Bill M.
"I agree that calling this a "cottage", even though it's directly on a lake, is somewhat of a misnomer. However, I don't need to be suffering in a primitive, bar bones building to enjoy nature. Nor does it "destroy the environment". Care has been taken to protect the environment by installing a proper septic system, burying cables and not removing trees unnecessarily. If you don't like it, I'll be happy to take it. " - Bill M.
"The cottage must have amazing views and I can only dream at how wonderful it would be to share this with friends and family. I have very few family members in Canada and Lisa, who I was very close with passed away at 21 after battling cancer for three years. Ever since then I have sponsored fundraisers in support of this initiative. All the best to who ever wins this lovely cottage!" - Toni C.
"I have waited and waited for this cottage, it is all my taste , it has all the things I have dreamed about, It will be mine
" - Donna D.
"Haha, this is horrible." - Jon B.
"This is a cottage? This thing would be out of place in a suburban neighbourhood. I was looking for a cottage! I don't know what this is. I implore everyone to look at a real cottage, something with actual beauty, then to look at this. These buildings are dominating the lakes and destroying our environment. I would not want to visit this, I would sell it immediately to someone from the city who doesn't know what nature is, I hope the winner enjoys their new suburban neighbourhood, this one has a lake!" - john D.
"YES!! PMH listened to the comments and made the change to add access to the lake so it can be properly enjoyed! Thanks PMH. Well done." - Bill M.
"This is going to be my sister's new place! Glad you all like it, but please, we're private so no visitors...
:)" - Jenny M.
"I would love to take my dad from the hospital to this beautiful home where he can fully recover mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. That would be a dream come true for my family.." - Rohia P.
"l am so happy and grateful, that l will fly my float plane to my new place 1143 kendon rd muskoka." - roger B.
"Beautiful, home on the water. well done I wondered about any landscaping and if they plan a dock system.
Response:
The Muskoka cottage will soon have a brand-new dock. A pathway is currently underway down the left side of the property (as you look at the lake) to the shoreline, which will lead onto a new floating dock and unobstructed views of beautiful Bass lake. Anticipated completion date is Sept. 11!
" - Helen R.
"WOW AWESOME PRINCESS MARGARET GANG YOU 'VE OUTDONE YOURSELF AGAIN HEAR, HEAR & HERES MY TICKET MONEY!" - MAUREEN E.
"I saw the cottage on Saturday and I am disappointed that there is no dock, no beach , and no access down to the water
Response: The Muskoka cottage will soon have a brand-new dock. A pathway is currently underway down the left side of the property (as you look at the lake) to the shoreline, which will lead onto a new floating dock and unobstructed views of beautiful Bass lake. " - John S.
"If this cottage is anything like the cottages from the two previous draws, it is beautiful! Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to go thru this cottage as I didn't get up there in August. Winning this would certainly be well worth the price of a ticket! " - M. L.
"This would be a dream come true for anyone. Bass Lake is just beautiful, and this is certainly a cause worth supporting. I imagine there aren't many people whose lives haven't been affected by someone with cancer. I hope and pray that the money raised from this sweepstake will help someone to beat the cancer that they are living with. " - Donna M.
"Beautiful cottage! i would have liked to seen a den/guest bedroom. the powder room bathroom with a shower and maybe off the den or laundry room instead of dining area. A screen in porch too instead of too much money spent on the decor." - laure S.
"Um" - Alex G.
"I don't need to talk a lot about myself here around every one, but seriously, this place may be my Dad, my Mom,my dream, my life and my everything ..firstly i thanks God because i did take a few second to look around this site, and i thanks his promoters.. who knows! maybe i'll be the winner..peace and love to every onexxx" - F.TERESA M.
"A beautiful cottage indeed! Everyone one of us knows someone or will know someone who has cancer. Thank you PMH for all that you do and the lives that you help save. This program encourages all to assist in conquering this horrible disease.
" - jackie L.
"How far off the main road is this cottage?" - Bill M.
"Assuming the lottery doesn't sell out early, the draw date for the cottage is in December.
That's well after a cottage would normally be closed up for the season. I wonder if the road in will be plowed so I can see my new property before the spring? I'd hate to spend hours driving there and find I can't get in because the road is blocked with snow!" - Bill M.
"I owe my life to Princess Margaret. Five years ago at the age of 23, I was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma. It has a 20% survival rate and an 80% re-occurrence rate. Thanks to Dr. Hogg & Dr. O'Sullivan, I'm enjoying everyday.
Best off all, I welcomed my miracle baby in June 2007. When diagnosed, I was told that there was zero chance of conceiving.
Thank you Princess Margaret. You create miracles everyday & I'll be forever grateful for that!" - Melissa L.
"This is a wonderful cottage, I went to tour it last weekend. Our family would enjoy this place for many years. I have been supporting the PMH by buying tickets and am so happy to help conquer cancer" - Irene B.
"WOW! I just viewed the interior on this beautiful cottage. Everything, right down to the hanging baskets, is PERFECT. This would be a dream come true for my family to have wonderful family gatherings and lasting memories. Princess Margaret, you have done it again, for such a worthy cause." - D. C.
"We have supported the lottery since day one, but have never won. Not winning well that's not true as a survivor I've won because of the lottery! Thank you !
This would be such a beautiful place to retire too an absolutely stunning cottage and a dream life to live out. " - Darlene H.
"perfect spot ,oh so beautiful.if I won this cottage i would donate the entire summer months to children and their family's suffering from cancer," - annmarie L.
"A set of stairs down to the lake with a nice beach would be great. However, what would be needed is a road down to the lake, a launching ramp and a dock. Otherwise, the only boat you could have is a canoe. That would be poor use of such a beautiful cottage!" - Bill M.
""Beautiful. Perfect style for a Muskoka home overlooking a lake. Would move in immediately, snow and all. I love all of our Canadian seasons, especially in such a wonderfully natural setting and home."" - Kaitlin T.
"This cottage is spectacular, best yet by a long shot. To those who complain about the cottage, or the unfinished waters edge, why do you buy a ticket? Please remember why you buy before you complain. Thanks. " - Steph R.
"A dream come true..... The plan is beautiful and would definitely be lived in!" - Doris L.
"Princess Margaret you have done it again. You have the ability to cure cancer and make dreams come true. No big surprise, the prizes are A+ The Muskoka Cottage is breath taking. Keep up the great work and great success in the future for everyone that has been affected by this horrible disease. " - Michael W.

" - D O.
"How deep is the water just off the shoreline? Why doesn't Bass Lake
show up on the C.A.A. Provincial Map?
REPLY: The water off the shoreline is deep enough for a boat launch. " - Carole R.
"I love this cottage, I am preparing to have the Christmas holiday in Muskoka. I will repaint and redo the pink bedroom in more boyish colours since I only have boys." - Marco A G.
"C'est un belle endroit pour prendre sa retraite!!!Magnifique!!! Merci au organisateur de nous faire rĂªver a peu frais." - Maryse P.

"Lovely place indeed...Would most definitely put in a dock...and a stairs leading to it...would enjoy doing that too ! You could make a nice income from renting this place...The living room and kitchen are great. When do I take ownership :)" - Jonathan G.
"Beautiful just beautiful!!!!!" - Launa W.
"The virtual tours in the past were better. I enjoyed accessing each door and moving around the home. It was like I was walking the home." - Silvio A.
"With taxes estimated at $5000/year,
the $10,000 won't pay the expenses for the first two years of ownership.
While I will gratefully accept the cheque when I win, there will be no money left for improvements to allow access to the lake or repaint the pink room. I guess I'll just have to sit on my beautiful deck and dream about having access to the lake some day.
Sweet Dreams!" - Bill M.
"I have just purchased my ticket. This cottage is stunning. I can hardly wait to go up in the fall to view it in person. Maybe we will win this time. Rose S. " - Rose S.
"This is a dream cottage. Funny my wife and I have been looking up in the Orillia area over the summer for something and this one would meet more of our dreams that we could ever have imagined. Since going through Cancer myself 3 1/2 years ago it makes lotteries like this even more important." - Gary C.
"Found out today my lovely father in law's cancer has spread. I try to support these lotteries as the cause is so important for so many people. Thank you to all who have made such GORGEOUS properties in an effort to eradicate cancer and give hope to so many people. Please support this cause. The properties are dreamy and for many, dreams and hopes are all that is left." - Angela H.

Here's to wishing and trying." - Danielle L.
"A beautiful cottage. Anyone would love to win it. Question; You have noted that Bass Lake empties into Lake Joseph but is there a navigable channel between the two lakes?
REPLY: There is no boat access between Bass Lake and Lake Joseph. " - Kieran Q.
"I can only dream about owning a place like this. Here's hoping my dreams come true, but if not at least I will be helping to find a cure for cancer." - Pat C.
"The cottage is beautiful! I would like to know more about the waterfront. Is there a dock? Is the swimming great? How wide is the lot? Can the bush be trimmed to allow for easy access of waterfront use?
REPLY:
There is currently no dock on the property: however, the prize
cottage also comes with $10,000 cash so the winner can put in a dock
along the 98' of shoreline, which can be easily trimmed back. And yes,
the swimming is great -- the water is clean and clear! " - Cathy M.
"Is there a second bathroom?
REPLY:
The main floor has a full bath (ensuite) off the master bedroom plus a half bath/powder room off the dining room. The second floor has a full bath as well. " - Christine B.
"I was looking the "Water's Edge" view
and had a couple of questions.
How are the measurements of the space under the deck? This is potentially useful storage space if enclosed. (that would also keep animals out!)
This appears to be totally undeveloped shoreline (i.e. unusable until a beach & dock have been added). Why was the shoreline ignored? After all, the purpose of a cottage is to be able to enjoy the lake. The job's not finished here.
REPLY:
There is space under the deck which could be used for storage, should
the lucky winner choose to do so.
There is no dock, although the winner
can opt to use the 98' of pristine shoreline for that or any other
purpose.
The $10,000 cash which goes along with the prize cottage should
be able to assist the winner in this regard, is s/he so chooses.
The prize cottage and lot are absolutely stunning and we encourage all who are able to take the drive to see it in person--it's well worth it!" - Bill M.
"Fabulous looking cottage, is it winterized?
REPLY:
The cottage has been built for year-round use.
" - L. D.
"I notice there is a TV included in the furniture. Is there lines run in for tv/internet and telephone? These are, after all, basic necessities of life!
REPLY: Lines are run in for tv/internet and telephone " - Bill M.
"Have purchased our ticket as usual to support the cause. My husband and I are both cancer survisors.
What is the closest town, village or city to this property?
Only disappointment is that there are no stairs to the lake and no dock.
Is there only the one bathroom on the main level?
REPLY:
Closest town is Port Carling, about a 10 minute drive. The prize cottage
comes with $10,000 cash to help the lucky winner to spend as they wish
(including putting in a dock if they prefer)! The main floor has a full
bath (ensuite) off the master bedroom plus a half bath/powder room off
the dining room. The second floor has a full bath as well. " - Carole R.
"Absolutely breathtaking. " - Daniela G.
"This is by far the nicest cottage you ever had as a prize - would move in in a heartbeat! I'm pretty sure I will not win it with my ticket but I will support the cause as usual and envy the winner, haha! Keep on with the good work!" - Barbara W.
"wow! This is absolutely breathtaking!" - Maria C.
"After looking at the virtual tour, the layout seems horrible but the interior design looks even worse. Not my taste.
" - Alicia L.
"It's great that the virtual tour is up and we can see this cottage. I'm finding that, because of the way the tour is set up, it's difficult to picture how all the rooms relate. I can't, for example, locate the washer and dryer. Any chance of adding a floor layout? " - Bill M.
"WOW! you bet I'll keep trying, sorry VISA here I go again......charge it.
The properties keep getting better and better." - syl W.
"What a beautiful setting for a cottage, the cottage reflects its surroundings. This is a wonderful prize, it would be a special place to nurture family, restore mind and soul and to reflect on how fortunate we all are. Whoever wins this congratulations! Enjoy. Indeed may this effort make a difference in fighting cancer." - Deborah A.
" Looks stunning. I can hardly wait to see the pictures of the inside. When will the VR Tour and pictures be available? " - Rose S.
"Fell in love with Muskoka once and the people there. Would give anything to go back and live there, or at least enjoy as vacation spot. Five generations would have a place to enjoy fun times and make memories. Great purpose for a lottery. - " - Marilyn S.
"The person who wins this beautiful cottage is very fortunate....can't wait to see the inside. Would love to retire there. The money raised will help everyone affected by this disease. "This cottage looks amazing from the outside. I can not wait to see the decor inside. I have been a supporter since day one and never have won. Maybe this is the year and a prize like this would be a dream come true." - ADELE I.
"Yes. There are expenses involved with a cottage. However, they could be mitigated by putting in a "Micro Fit" or "FIT" installation on the property. By generating solar power year around & selling it to the utility under this program, at least some of the costs could be offset. If I win, I will definitely look into it. Wish me luck! :-) " - Bill M.
"I'm wondering if this cottage can be used in the winter if the furnace is kept running. I'm concerned about any portions of the plumbing or septic systems that are outside the building envelope & and not below the frost line. Would there be a problem? REPLY: The Cottage has been built specifically for year-round use in Muskoka." - Bill M.
"What a beautiful Cottage!! I too am a cancer survivor and a stem cell survivor and it is back and I am battling it again. I would love to enjoy this relaxing Cottage with my family. I hope my ticket is drawn and I will throw a big party!
" - Lynne X.
"This will be a dream come true for my husband. He likes fishing, go boating and really love nature so much. This could be a good retirement place for both of us and my kids can come and enjoy the place cause both of them have the same likes like my hubby.
A good place to be." - Eloida P.
"I would like to see the option of cash or prize. While the building certainly is beautiful, as a senior, living on a fixed income, I could not afford the upkeep. I am not interested in winning most of the "prizes" offered. They are of no use to me at this time in my life. If I needed such an item, I would go out and get it." - Bonny J.
"The cottage in Muskoka looks gorgeous! Looking forward to the virtual tour! The windows abound and the deck is absolutely beautiful! We will be supporting this lottery again just for the good cause...the cottage would be our dream home! Well done!" - Lynn G.
"I didn't think your Muskoka cottages could get any better than the last one but again you proved me wrong. I bow to you all involved. I hope you know how much your hard work is appreciated by all who need your help!
Thank you all. Sandy D, a huge admirer!" - Sandy D.

"From the outside this looks spectacular... can not wait for the VR Tour to see the rest of the cottage." - Angela A.
"This is my dream-come-true retirement home, which I will look forward to sharing with all of my family on a regular on-going basis. As a cancer survivor of breast cancer myself, when I win this cottage I will definitely feel like I have died and gone to heaven. I am convinced it will be as close as I can possibly get to living a heavenly life-style while still living on this earth because I can not afford to buy a cottage like this in the Muskoka's or anywhere else on earth for that matter. I look forward to the bit win. Until the final draw, I will continue to fantasize and live the heavenly dream-come-true with the rest of the people who share my dream. " - Diana C.
